Neighborhood Watch is one of the oldest and most effective crime prevention programs in the country, bringing citizens together with law enforcement to deter crime and make communities safer. The Neighborhood Watch Program is directly managed by the CSPD. Greencrest is organized by having eight Neighborhood Watch blocks. Each block has an assigned Block Captain and Assistant Block Captain.
Each Block Coordinator must be a member of the Greencrest Homeowners Association (GHOA) in good standing and appointed by the President of the GHOA as a representative to one of the neighborhood blocks. The Block Coordinator will report to the Board of Directors for the Greencrest Homeowners Association on matters affecting the neighborhood and will actively work to promote safety, security and well being of all neighbors.
Neighbors are also encouraged to participate as Neighborhood Watch Block Captains. They receive much more intensive training from the Police Department, are subject to a background investigation, and work directly with the Police Department to protect Greencrest.
